BUCHAREST, December 14. /TASS/. Romania’s Foreign Ministry issued a protest after a drone, believed to have been involved in an attack on Ukrainian port facilities, crashed inside the country.
"The Foreign Ministry strongly protests against the incident that was caused by an uncontrolled fall of a drone, which was involved in an attack on Ukrainian port infrastructure on the night of December 14, in an uninhabited area four kilometers from the Grindu settlement," the ministry said in a statement.
According to the statement, the Foreign Ministry is in talks with NATO allies on what is happening on the border between Romania and Ukraine, including the aforementioned incident.
Germany’s DPA news agency reported earlier that German Eurofighter aircraft on duty in Romania had been scrambled on Wednesday night over an alleged violation of the county’s airspace by a drone, which later exploded. According to the news outlet, the aircraft’s pilots were not ordered by NATO to use weapons.
