MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Severe traffic congestion has brought Kiev’s roads to a standstill, the Insider news outlet reported.
The news outlet posted a panoramic video on its Telegram channel showing massive traffic jams across the Ukrainian capital.
Traffic has been crazy in Kiev for several weeks. Local media report that journeys that used to take 20 minutes can now take up to two hours. Traffic jams have also disrupted public transportation. Large crowds gather at bus stops amid the difficult traffic situation, with passengers jostling to board buses, which are running overcrowded.
On October 27, Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko reported damage to the Yuzhny Bridge and metro infrastructure, including a metro line that runs across the bridge. The Yuzhny Bridge is one of the Ukrainian capital’s key crossings, connecting the left and right banks of the Dnieper River. It also carries a significant share of freight traffic between different parts of Ukraine. According to the Ukrainian news outlet Strana, a substantial portion of military transport also passes over the bridge. The Yuzhny Bridge connects the Kiev-Odessa, Kiev-Chop and Kiev-Kharkov highways.
