Court in Finland suspends new seizure of state Russian assets — newspaper

According to the report, under the court ruling, enforcement proceedings already underway are suspended pending a decision on the appeal or until further notice

STOCKHOLM, November 6. /TASS/. An appeals court in Helsinki has ruled to pause the imposition of new restrictions on state-owned Russian assets in Finland, Helsingin Sanomat reported.

Under the court ruling, enforcement proceedings already underway are suspended pending a decision on the appeal or until further notice, the Finnish newspaper wrote. Earlier restrictions imposed on sovereign Russian assets worth about €44 million remain in force.

Finnish authorities launched a large-scale campaign to seize Russian property in August 2024. The seizure was authorized following a lawsuit filed by Ukraine’s Naftogaz.
