MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. The traffic between Crimea and the mainland part of Russia interrupted early in the morning on Saturday has started recovering by the end of the day.
The motor service is opened only for cars so far and only along a single lane, under the contraflow principle. Freight transportation will start after the expert examination and trucks are currently going to Crimea through new regions or expect the ferry launch.
The freight and passenger rail service has been opened in full but trains still have schedule delays.
On Saturday morning, a truck exploded on the Crimea Bridge, setting on fire the fuel tanks of a freight train running near along its rail part. Three people were killed and two eastbound sections of the bridge’s road part collapsed. A government commission chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin was set up after the accident.
