MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Russia needs at least 100 Earth remote sensing (ERS) satellites in the orbit, Roscosmos Director General Yury Borisov told TASS in an interview.

"At least 100 such satellites are needed to satisfy Russia’s interests," Borisov said.

Satellites under the Sphere federal program will be built at the MF Reshetnev ISS, for which, Borisov emphasized, a stream production line will be set up and a transition to new standards of quality management will be necessary.

According to the Roscosmos head, an integrated structure of instrument making for the space industry is currently being developed. "Therefore, we will have a whole set of unified solutions for batch production of apparatus and the necessary components will be available in storage facilities. The country has all the necessary capacities, while we have already started to design technical solutions domestically as part of promising research projects under the auspices of the Sphere federal program," Borisov said.
