Russia draws up list of industrial facilities, solutions for protection — top official

Russian Deputy PM Denis Manturov emphasized that that active work is underway in all regions to create mobile fire groups and strengthen emergency recovery teams

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. The list of strategic and critically important social, transport, energy, trade, logistics, and IT infrastructure facilities, as well as the most significant industrial enterprises, has been compiled, First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov said.

Threat models were developed in these areas, and standard protection solutions were prepared, he said during the government hour in the Federation Council.

"We at the government identify risks on a weekly basis and determine priority operational and medium-term tasks to ensure that enemy strikes do not undermine the stability of critical infrastructure and life support systems. We focus on the social, transport and energy sectors, trade and logistics, information infrastructure and, of course, the most important industrial enterprises. The list of strategic and critically important facilities was compiled in all these areas, threat models were formed, standard solutions for active and passive protection were developed, and resource reservation requirements were set," he said.

Manturov also said that active work is underway in all regions to create mobile fire groups and strengthen emergency recovery teams.

"Our main task is to ensure the safety of people and the resilience of the economy, while minimizing the impact of attacks on the daily lives of our citizens," he said.

Decisions on classifying the facilities as critical infrastructure are made by industry ministries, taking into account their importance, Manturov previously said in an interview with TASS.

Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier signed a decree allowing the government to introduce temporary management at critical infrastructure facilities whose owners have failed to ensure their safety or restore them in time.
