Humanitarian crisis in Kiev-controlled Kupyansk district of Kharkov Region near critical

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. The humanitarian situation in the Kiev-controlled Kupyansk district of the Kharkov Region has reached a critical point, as water supply to this area is provided only once every three days, Yevgeny Lisnyak, deputy head of the regional military-civil administration, said at a briefing.

"Currently, the humanitarian situation in the temporarily occupied Kupyansk district is close to critical," he said, referring to the settlements of Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, Podoly, Kovsharovka, and Kurilovka, which border Kupyansk.

According to Lisnyak, the Ukrainian authorities supply water for a short time, once every three days. Local residents can access water for about an hour and a half; however, it is primarily provided for the Ukrainian military, who are currently occupying private homes in the area.

In addition, gas and electricity have been cut off in the eastern part of Kupyansk, as well as in neighboring settlements, Lisnyak noted. "As Russian troops began to advance, the Ukrainian authorities deemed it inexpedient to restore Kupyansk’s damaged infrastructure," Lisnyak added.

Earlier, Vitaly Ganchev, head of the regional military-civil administration, told TASS that the Russian military were clearing the industrial zone of Kupyansk of enemy forces.
