MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Russian forces struck Ukrainian manpower and military hardware in 108 areas over the past day in the special military operation in Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Thursday.
"Operational-tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile troops and artillery of the Russian groupings of forces struck the Ukrainian army’s manpower and military equipment in 108 areas," the ministry said in a statement.
Russian forces repel Ukrainian counterattack in Kupyansk area over past day
Russian forces took better positons and repelled a Ukrainian army counterattack in the Kupyansk area, destroying roughly 30 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Kupyansk direction, units of the Western Battlegroup improved their forward edge positions in active operations and inflicted damage by firepower on enemy formations near the settlements of Ivanovka in the Kharkov Region and Terny in the Donetsk People’s Republic. They repelled a counterattack by the Ukrainian army’s 47th motorized infantry brigade near the community of Pershotravnevoye in the Kharkov Region," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army’s losses in the Kupyansk direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 30 personnel, a tank, four motor vehicles, a US-made M777 artillery system, a US-manufactured M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery gun and a Gvozdika motorized artillery system, it specified.
Russian forces destroy 195 Ukrainian troops in enemy’s attempted cross-border attack
Russian forces destroyed roughly 195 Ukrainian troops that attempted to attack the borderline territory and five enemy tanks, the ministry reported.
Russian forces thwarted another attempt by the Ukrainian military to break through into Russia’s border area near the settlement of Spodaryushino in the Belgorod Region, it specified.
"Air and artillery strikes destroyed as many as 195 personnel, five tanks, four armored combat vehicles, three UR-77 self-propelled mine clearance vehicles and three engineering obstacle removal vehicles," the ministry said.
Kiev loses over 240 troops in Donetsk area over past day
The Ukrainian military lost more than 240 troops and three tanks in the Donetsk area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Donetsk direction, units of the Southern Battlegroup took better sites and positions and inflicted damage on the enemy’s formations near the settlements of Georgiyevka, Kleshcheyevka and Nevelskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic. The enemy lost over 240 personnel, three tanks and five motor vehicles," the ministry said.
In counter-battery fire, Russian forces destroyed a US-made M777 artillery system, a US-manufactured M198 howitzer and a UK-made FH70 field gun. In addition, they destroyed a Ukrainian ammunition depot, it said.

Russian forces repulsed eight Ukrainian army counterattacks in the Avdeyevka area over the past day, the ministry reported.
"Russian forces repulsed eight counterattacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 24th, 47th and 59th mechanized, 3rd assault and 78th air assault brigades near the settlements of Novgorodskoye, Novobakhmutovka, Berdychi, Semyonovka and Orlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian army lost "as many as 410 personnel, 3 armored combat vehicles, including a US-made Bradley infantry fighting vehicle, 9 motor vehicles, a D-30 howitzer and an AN/TPQ-36 counter-battery radar station, it specified.
Russian forces repulse three Ukrainian attacks in south Donetsk area over past day
Russian forces repulsed three Ukrainian army attacks in the south Donetsk area, eliminating roughly 125 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the south Donetsk direction, units of the Battlegroup East inflicted damage by firepower and repulsed three attacks by assault groups of the Ukrainian army’s 72nd mechanized and 128th territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Vladimirovka and Staromayorskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic," the ministry said.
The enemy’s losses in the south Donetsk direction over the past 24 hours amounted to 125 personnel, a tank, two motor vehicles and two D-30 howitzers, it specified.

Russian forces struck Ukrainian army units in the Kherson area, destroying roughly 30 enemy troops over the past day, the ministry reported.
"In the Kherson direction, units of the Dnepr Battlegroup improved their forward edge positions in well-coordinated operations and inflicted damage by firepower on amassed personnel and equipment of the Ukrainian army’s 118th mechanized, 35th marine infantry, 23rd National Guard and 121st territorial defense brigades near the settlements of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye Region, Vysshetarasovka in the Dnepropetrovsk Region and Mikhailovka in the Kherson Region. The Ukrainian army’s losses amounted to 30 personnel and two motor vehicles," the ministry said.
Russian air defenses down eight rockets, 136 Ukrainian UAVs over past day
Russian air defense forces shot down eight HIMARS and Grad rockets, a French-made smart bomb and destroyed 136 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) over the past day, the ministry reported.
"During the last 24-hour period, air defense capabilities shot down 136 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, a French-made Hammer guided air bomb, four rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and four rockets of the Grad multiple rocket launcher," the ministry said.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 577 Ukrainian warplanes, 269 helicopters, 15,498 unmanned aerial vehicles, 485 surface-to-air missile systems, 15,481 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,238 multiple rocket launchers, 8,406 field artillery guns and mortars and 19,731 special military motor vehicles since the start of the special military operation, the ministry reported.
