Russian ministry says Ukraine’s security service makes sweeping arrests in Kharkov

Mikhail Mizintsev said only women and elderly people risk going out

MOSCOW, March 30. /TASS/. Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, on Wednesday said civilians in Kharkov avoid to talk in social networks as the Security Service of Ukraine is making sweeping arrests.

"People are trying not to talk by phone or on social networks and exercising caution about what they say as the Security Service of Ukraine makes sweeping arrests of civilians," he said. "People are taken away and they don’t come back even if there’s only an assumption that they feel well about Russia."

He said only women and elderly people risk going out. "The men that remain in the city don’t leave homes as they are afraid that they will be forcibly enlisted to territorial defense battalions," he said.
