Putin appoints Yevgeny Terekhin as ambassador to Ethiopia, African Union

Previously, Vsevolod Tkachenko had been Ambassador to Ethiopia and envoy to the African Union since 2014

MOSCOW, March 27. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Wednesday to appoint Yevgeny Terekhin as Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia and envoy to the African Union headquartered in Addis Ababa. The document was posted on the official internet portal of legal information.

In another decree, Putin relieved Vsevolod Tkachenko of these duties. Tkachenko had been Ambassador to Ethiopia and envoy to the African Union since 2014.

According to information on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry, before the new appointments, Yevgeny Terekhin had worked as deputy director of the Third CIS Department. He has the diplomatic rank of an envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary.
