MOSCOW, January 23. /TASS/. Police officers began to detain participants in the illegal protest on Pushkinskaya Square in Moscow, TASS correspondent reports from the scene.

Among the detainees there are young people, two of them appear to be minors. The police ask people to keep distance.

Earlier, supporters of blogger Alexey Navalny in social networks urged to participate in illegal protests on January 23. In this regard, press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Moscow warned about responsibility for participating in this event.

The police noted that attempts to hold an uncoordinated public event, as well as any provocative actions by their participants, will be regarded as a threat to public order and will be immediately suppressed. Press service of the Prosecutor General's Office told TASS that law enforcement agencies are focused on taking preventive measures, and if there are grounds, bringing perpetrators to administrative responsibility.
