OPEC+ monitoring committee concerned over attacks on global energy infrastructure

In addition, the committee reviewed current market conditions and emphasized the importance of OPEC+ in maintaining energy market stability

MOSCOW, October 4. /TASS/. The OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee expressed concern over attacks on energy infrastructure, saying that restoring capacity would require time and resources, according to a statement posted on OPEC’s website.

The committee underscored the critical importance of safeguarding international maritime routes to ensure uninterrupted energy supplies. It also expressed concern over attacks on energy infrastructure, noting that restoring damaged energy facilities to full capacity is costly and time-consuming, affecting the overall availability of energy supplies.

The committee also stressed that any actions undermining energy supply security, whether attacks on infrastructure or disruptions to international maritime routes, increase market volatility and weaken collective efforts under the OPEC+ agreement to maintain market stability for the benefit of producers, consumers, and the global economy.

In addition, the committee reviewed current market conditions and emphasized the importance of OPEC+ in maintaining energy market stability.
