MINSK, November 3. /TASS/. Ensuring security in the Eurasian space is impossible solely with the help of military alliances, security also requires diplomacy, mutual commitments and practical steps to reduce risks, Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Feridun Sinirlioglu said.
He told the IVth Minsk Conference on Eurasian Security that countries need to develop mechanisms to increase transparency to resolve differences and build trust. He said that even in conditions of conflicting interests, states should still hear each other out and continue dialogue.
Sinirlioglu added that we must remind ourselves that dialogue is not about making concessions, but about mutual responsibility, which is now more important than ever.
The IVth Minsk Conference on Eurasian Security is being held from November 3-4. It is attended by more than 600 delegates from 50 countries.
