BERLIN, April 21,  /ITAR-TASS/. A monitoring mission of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has arrived in the town of Sloviansk in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region to investigate a shooting incident that took place there on the Easter night last weekend, the Deutsche Welle media corporation said on Monday.

According to Ukraine’s Interior Ministry, three people were killed and another three were wounded when unidentified gunmen attacked a checkpoint at the entrance to Sloviansk on the night from April 19 to 20.

Unarmed local residents who usually inspect all cars entering the city and warn the local self defence units about approaching army units were on duty at the checkpoint at the time of the shooting attack. The assaulters who came in several cars opened fire at the checkpoint. According to the media, self-defence fighters immediately arrived at the scene.
