LONDON, April 01. /ITAR-TASS/. Leader of the all-Ukrainian association Batkivshchina (Fatherland) Yulia Tymoshenko believes that the West should considerably intensify co-operation with Kiev in the military sphere. The Ukrainian presidential candidate made this statement in an interview published by The Financial Times on Tuesday.
She said that in her view, “the whole world must substantially strengthen the military in Ukraine, not as a means for war but as a factor of stability and containment.” According to her, the West should supply to the Ukrainian armed forces not only sleeping bags and rations, but also equipment and provide military-technical assistance.
Tymoshenko has been registered by the Ukrainian Central Election Commission (CEC) as a candidate for the post of the country’s president.
