Participants in CSTO exercise in Belarus, scheduled for October 12-16, arrive in country

The Belarusian Defense Ministry said that the service members will take part in a command-and-staff exercise with CSTO peacekeeping forces

MINSK, October 9. /TASS/. Participants in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) exercise, which is scheduled to take place in Belarus from October 12-16, have begun arriving in the country, the Belarusian Defense Ministry’s press service reported.

"Participants in the CSTO exercises are arriving in Belarus. Allies from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan are being welcomed on Belarusian soil," the statement reads.

The ministry added that the service members will take part in a command-and-staff exercise with CSTO peacekeeping forces, Indestructible Brotherhood 2026, and a special exercise involving a joint NBC protection and medical support unit of the CSTO, Barrier 2026, which will be held from October 12 to 16.

During the Unbreakable Brotherhood 2026 exercise, participants will practice planning and conducting a peacekeeping operation by the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces. During the Barrier 2026 exercise, participants will practice neutralizing sources of biological threats within the area of responsibility of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces.

"The exercises are routine in nature and are not directed against third countries," the Defense Ministry emphasized.
