Source reveals how many Donbass and Ukraine evacuees took refuge in Russia

MOSCOW, March 5. /TASS/. Almost 156,000 residents of the DPR and LPR have been evacuated to Russia since February 18, about 18,000 people have left Ukraine through Russian checkpoints, power structures told TASS.

"As of the morning of March 5, almost 174,000 people crossed the Russian border, including over 45,000 children. Almost 156,000 are residents of the DPR and LPR, the evacuation of which was announced since February 18," the agency's interlocutor said.

He specified that recently, about 18,000 citizens of Russia, Ukraine and other countries left the Ukrainian territory through checkpoints in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions and the Republic of Crimea.

The security services reported that Russia received the Donbass evacuees in 25 regions. "There are more than 18,000 people, including more than 9,000 children, in 270 temporary shelters in 25 regions of Russia," the source said.
