Western countries are prepared to provoke military coups anywhere in the world, including Africa, where they are stoking tensions and posing direct military threats, Russian Presidential Adviser Anton Kobyakov, who also serves as executive secretary of the organizing committee for the summit of heads of state and government of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) members, said.
"The West uses various means to create tensions, or even a direct military threat, in virtually any part of Africa. It is prepared to provoke coups in any part of the world, not just in Africa. We see this happening everywhere," he told a briefing at the Russia National Center.
He added that military and technical cooperation has been and remains a key element of Russia’s ties with African countries, including efforts to protect joint projects in the modern era.
