Kremlin highlights important role of Russian media in Alyoshki reporting

Dmitry Peskov noted that it makes no difference to Russia that journalists from Newsmax will be there

MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. It's crucial to pay attention to Russian reporting, not foreign, about the humanitarian mission in Alyoshki, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"We absolutely do not care that journalists from Newsmax will be there. I don’t care a bit. For me, it’s important that there are Russian journalists there," he told Vesti.

Russia imposed a "silence regime" in the Kherson direction starting at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time (1:00 a.m. GMT) on October 27 to prepare for a humanitarian operation in the town of Alyoshki. Earlier, Russia and Ukraine, with the mediation of US First Lady Melania Trump, agreed to a ceasefire in the Alyoshki area of the Kherson Region to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid and to prepare for the evacuation of the civilians through a special safe corridor.

On September 21, Peskov described the humanitarian situation in Alyoshki as critical. Shelling and drone attacks by Kiev prevent food or medicines delivery there. Of the 20,000 residents who previously lived in the town, only slightly more than 1,000 people remain in Alyoshki now.
