Putin to receive 87% of vote in Russian presidential election — VCIOM exit poll

According to the survey, Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) nominee Nikolay Kharitonov will come in second place (4.6%)

MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. Self-nominated candidate and incumbent Russian President Vladimir Putin will come first in the country’s presidential election with 87% of the vote, an exit poll conducted by the Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) showed.

According to the survey, Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) nominee Nikolay Kharitonov will come in second place (4.6%), New People party nominee Vladislav Davankov will be third (4.2%) and Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) nominee Leonid Slutsky will come in fourth place (3%). Another 1.2% of the ballots will be declared invalid.

The exit poll was conducted at 1,400 polling stations in 69 Russian regions on March 15-17. A total of 466,324 people were surveyed. The pollster points out that this is preliminary data.
