MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Russia will promote its technologies, digital solutions, and engineering products within the framework of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said in an interview with TASS.

"We intend to expand the range of our commercial turnover, primarily through goods with a high added value. We will promote Russian technologies, digital solutions, engineering products, and agricultural products within the framework of APEC," he said.

According to the diplomat, Russia is preparing for further substantive work as part of the forum. "We are talking primarily about strengthening the multilateral trading system under the auspices of the WTO. Russia is also an active supplier of hydrocarbons, food and fertilizers to that region," he said.

The diplomat added that now Russia's relations with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region show "progressive dynamics", and noted the growth of trade between Russia and the countries of the region.

"In recent years, even taking into account the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have reached record levels with a number of countries. For example, in 2022, the value of mutual deliveries with China increased by 29%, exceeding $190 billion," Pankin said.

Speaking about cooperation in the region, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that it is important to protect it from illegal restrictive measures of the West.

"It's sad that they continue to spin the spiral of geopolitical confrontation," the diplomat said.
