Russian troops snuff out key neo-Nazi ringleader from outlawed Right Sector — top brass

According to Russia’s Defense Ministry, Taras Bobanich participated in the Kiev regime’s punitive operation in Donbass since 2014

MOSCOW, April 11. /TASS/. Russian forces eliminated Taras Bobanich, one of the ringleaders of the so-called Right Sector voluntary Ukrainian corps (outlawed in Russia), Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Monday.

"During reconnaissance and search operations 5 km south of the town of Izyum, a Russian special operations group eliminated Taras Bobanich, one of the most notorious ringleaders of the so-called Right Sector voluntary Ukrainian corps," the ministry said.

As the ministry emphasized, "the Russian Armed Forces will continue searching for and eliminating the ringleaders of Ukrainian Neo-Nazi organizations."

In November 2013, Bobanich joined the ranks of the Right Sector as the leader of the Lvov Neo-Nazi group, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Since 2014, he had participated in the Kiev regime’s punitive operation in Donbass. He personally gave orders for bombardments of Donetsk and Lugansk residential areas from heavy artillery guns. He is guilty of the deaths of hundreds of civilians of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, including children," the ministry stressed.

From 2019, Bobanich held the post of a Right Sector deputy commander in charge of reserve forces, the ministry said.

"He was one of the ideologists of the so-called theory of the Ukrainian race’s superiority and personally participated in attacks on and killings of the Russian-speaking population on Ukrainian territory" the ministry added.
