The ruble-denominated MOEX index increased by 0.34%, the dollar-denominated RTS Index slightly declined by 0.08%

MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. The ruble-denominated MOEX Index ticked up by 0.34% to finish Friday’s main trading session at 2,463.82 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index edged down by 0.08% to 944.94 points. The yuan exchange rate gained 6.25 kopecks to close at 12.283 rubles.

"At the end of the week, the MOEX Index continued to show mixed movements, fluctuating within the 2,450-2,480 point range," noted Andrey Smirnov, a stock market expert at BCS World of Investments. "Overall, market sentiment remained favorable for buying."

"Segezha Group shares led the gains, soaring 10.39%," observed Vladimir Chernov, an analyst at Freedom Global. "This rally occurred in the absence of any major corporate drivers and appears to be speculative."

Meanwhile, VK shares spearheaded the declines, dropping 3.45% as investors locked in profits following a sharp multi-day rally.

BCS World of Investments expects the MOEX Index to trade between 2,420 and 2,520 points on Monday. In the near term, the yuan is projected to fluctuate within the 12.1-12.4 ruble range, while the US dollar is expected to hover between 81 and 83 rubles.

Meanwhile, Freedom Global analyst Vladimir Chernov forecasts the MOEX Index to move within a 2,450-2,550 point corridor during the next trading session.
