MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. Rosatom helps African countries that are not yet ready to join nuclear projects with non-nuclear energy technologies, Chief Executive Officer of Russia’s state corporation Alexey Likhachev told reporters as he commented on results of the Russia-Africa forum in Moscow.
"There are countries that are not yet ready to participate in nuclear projects. For them, we provide help with non-nuclear energy technologies. We are working with Mali on the development of a solar power plant equipped with our energy storage systems. Negotiations with the Congo on the supply of small-scale hydroelectric power plants have also resumed," he said.
In building constructive relations with countries on the African continent, Rosatom strictly adheres to the principles articulated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at last year’s Global Atomic Forum: partnership, equal access to advanced technologies, and a firm rejection of technological neocolonialism, Likhachev stressed.
