Russia resumes seafood exports to Namibia for first time since 2018

According to expert estimates, Russia supplied Namibia with about 60 tons of frozen herring worth nearly $80,000 in 2026

MOSCOW, October 9. /TASS/. Russia has resumed seafood exports to Namibia this year, marking the first shipments to the African nation since 2018, the Agroexport federal center reported. Since the start of 2026, Russia has exported approximately 60 tons of frozen herring valued at nearly $80,000.

"According to expert estimates, Russia supplied Namibia with about 60 tons of frozen herring worth nearly $80,000 [in 2026]. The last time Russian fish products were shipped to the country was in 2018," Agroexport said in a statement.

In addition to seafood, Russia also exported around 20 tons of active yeast to Namibia this year, with the shipments valued at just over $40,000.
