MOSCOW, June 25. /TASS/. Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has updated instructions for Russian airlines after analyzing the situation with flights in the Middle East, allowing them to fly to Israel only during the daytime until July 12, and prohibiting flights in the airspace of Jordan, Iraq and Iran until July 4, the agency reported. Flights to Qatar are now allowed.
"The new document prescribes: not to fly to/from Iranian airports, not to fly in the airspace of Jordan, Iraq and Iran," the report said.
In the early morning hours of June 13, Israel launched a military operation against Iran. Less than 24 hours later, Iran retaliated. Nine days later, on the morning of June 22, US jets attacked three Iranian nuclear facilities, entering the conflict. The following evening, Tehran launched a missile strike on Al Udeid, the largest US military airbase in the region, located in Qatar. Following a new round of escalation, the Russian air transport agency updated its recommendations, having added Qatar to the list of countries over whose territory flights are prohibited.
