MURMANSK, December 25. /TASS/. The number of education and production clusters in the Murmansk Region increased to seven in 2024, that is almost doubled, the regional government told TASS.
"In 2024, we have organized four education and industrial clusters, thus by now we have seven clusters in the region that unite 90% of colleges," the government said.
The region plans to create in 2025 another two clusters by integrating organizations of secondary professional education and enterprises working in the region. Those will be the Murmansk Construction Cluster and the Shipbuilding and Ship Repair in the Arctic Cluster.
"Over three years, more than 1,600 students will study in these clusters, and most students will be employed," the government said. "The regional budget and our partners will invest about 300 million rubles ($3 million) in these two clusters."
The Murmansk Region has three education centers - North and Tourism, Education in Murmansk, and Medicine in Murmansk, and four education and production centers - Kovdorsky, Kola Mining and Metallurgical, Polyarnozorinsky, and Arctic Fishing. The total investments have made more than 800 million rubles ($8 million).
