MOSCOW, December 3. /TASS/. Russian Railways expect an increase in passenger transportation by 1-2% annually in 2025, Deputy CEO Ivan Kolesnikov told reporters.
"We see that growth will be from 1 to 2%. However, there is always a room to perceive that the mobility will continue growing," Kolesnikov said, adding that this is the worst-case base scenario.
The railway operator expects passenger transportation to be above the last-year level as of 2024 year-end, the senior executive said. "We already understand that there will be more than 1.24-1.25 bln [passengers]. Certainly, it is important to understand what December will be but we expect that the transportation volume will not be less than in the last year," he added.
Earlier reports said that Russian Railways sent 1.178 bln passengers in eleven months of this year, up 7.3% in annual terms.
