Russian Economy minister says country's decarbonization efforts must continue

It was emphasized that it is more important than ever to develop Russian "green" technologies, find new markets, and promote products through multifaceted platforms

MOSCOW, January 25. /TASS/. The course toward decarbonization must be continued despite the Russian economy shifting from European towards Asian markets, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said on Wednesday.

"The global low-carbon economy trend continues. Despite the shifted focus from European to Asian markets, the course towards decarbonization needs to continue. Our key partners are already actively working on the climate agenda, placing increased demands on companies," the minister said.

He emphasized that it is more important than ever to develop Russian "green" technologies, find new markets, and promote products through multifaceted platforms.

Reshetnikov also noted that all of the state's core environmental initiatives remain relevant. The minister emphasized that in the past two years, Russia adopted strategic documents, approved basic legislation, created infrastructure for implementing climate projects.
