Russian Tu-142M3 aircraft hunt down enemy submarines in Pacific drills

It is reported that after accomplishing all of their training assignments, the crews of the anti-submarine warfare aircraft returned to the airfield of the Pacific Fleet’s naval aviation

VLADIVOSTOK, March 1. /TASS/. The crews of two Tupolev Tu-142M3 anti-submarine warfare planes from the Russian Pacific Fleet’s naval aviation practiced hunting down a notional enemy’s submarines during their flights over the Sea of Okhotsk and the Pacific Ocean, the Fleet’s press office reported on Friday.

"During the flights, the crews of the Tu-142M3 aircraft conducted hunting operations along their route, employing their special onboard capabilities to detect the notional enemy’s submarines. As part of fulfilling their flight assignments, the crews of the Tu-142M3 planes also sharpened the skills of their interoperability with the Pacific Fleet’s surface ships accomplishing objectives in the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk and the Pacific Ocean," the press office said in a statement.

After accomplishing all of their training assignments, the crews of the anti-submarine warfare aircraft returned to the airfield of the Pacific Fleet’s naval aviation, it said.
