Russian AD systems in high demand — Deputy PM

"Each transaction is subject to close scrutiny from our Western colleagues - they are trying to create obstacles; we ensure the security of such deals so that they are as effective as possible and implemented privately," Denis Manturov said

ABU DHABI, February 20. /TASS/. Russian air defense systems are enjoying the greatest interest amid the special military operation, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov said on the sidelines of the IDEX 2023 arms exhibition.

"Any military action is further accompanied by interest in those products, those weapons that are in demand in a given military conflict. Therefore, certainly, interest is now high in air defense systems - short, medium, and long range ones. These are drones, the helicopter component and some other items that were used in practice within the framework of special defense operations and will be promoted further on foreign markets," the official said.

"Certainly, they are in effect," Manturov said, answering a question as to whether restrictions from unfriendly states are affecting the Russian market. "Each transaction is subject to close scrutiny from our Western colleagues - they are trying to create obstacles; we ensure the security of such deals so that they are as effective as possible and implemented privately," he added.

The IDEX 2023 exhibition is being held in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, from February 20 to 24.
