CAIRO, September 17 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia’s Albion Company will build in Iraq a stadium and a four-star hotel.
Iraq’s media report the construction holding company has won a tender for construction of a sports arena for 30,000 seats and of a hotel for 75 rooms in Diyala Province, north of Bagdad.
The project will be located near the airport, north of Baqubah – the province’s administrative centre. The contract is for the term of 30 months, its cost is 105.8 billion Iraqi dinars /about 91 million dollars/.
In 2011, Iraq’s ministry of youth and sports together with Diyala Province’s administration announced a competition.
The territory of the airport used to be a US military base, which was closed as the coalition left Iraq in 2011. Now, the province authorities plant to organise a sports town in the region.
