Iran sees foreign interference as source of conflicts in region — diplomat

According to the Iranian diplomat, the country’s foreign policy is geared to defend national interests, ensure national security and expand economic diplomacy

ASHGABAT, February 10. /TASS/. Iran is committed to the security of countries of its region and thinks that all conflicts stem from the interference of foreign states, Iranian Ambassador to Ashgabat Ali Mojtaba Rouzbahani said.

"Our goal is to establish well-balanced political, economic, and cultural relations with all countries, with special attention being focused on de-escalation, collective security and the settlement of regional crises. Fighting against terrorism and counteracting the United States’ illegal sanctions are the central components of our foreign policy strategy. We are determined to strive for justice, equality, peace, stability and sovereignty of nations. Foreign interference is the key source of conflicts and tension in the region and our commitment to the security of all countries of the region is unshakable," he said at a reception at the Iranian embassy on the 46th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

According to the Iranian diplomat, the country’s foreign policy is geared to defend national interests, ensure national security and expand economic diplomacy. "In light of Iran’s active, dynamic and effective foreign policy, Iran has expanded cooperation with international and regional organizations," he said, mentioning BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, The Eurasian Economic Union and others.
