NEW YORK, December 22. /TASS/. US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed TV producer Mark Burnett as special envoy to the United Kingdom.

On the Truth Social network, Trump noted that Burnett "brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role." The new special envoy will be in charge of trade and investment issues, as well as the cultural exchange between the two countries.

Burnett has produced such shows as Survivor, Shark Tank, The Voice and The Apprentice, in which Trump participated. He is the former chairman of MGM and the winner of 13 Emmys.
