Odessa ship repair plant hit by fire after series of blasts in southern Ukrainian city

MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. A fire broke out at a ship repair plant in Odessa after a series of explosions in Ukraine’s southern Black Sea port city, Regional Administration Head Oleg Kiper reported on Monday.

"The ship repair plant on fire," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

By now, the fire has been put out, Kiper said, adding that equipment had been damaged.

An air raid alert was declared in the Odessa and Nikolayev Regions in southern Ukraine on the morning of October 30 that lasted over 20 minutes. During this period, explosions were reported in Odessa. As the local media outlet Dumskaya reported, at least three explosions occurred.

Ukrainian media outlets later posted photos showing a smoke billowing over the city.
