Putin agrees 'Russian world' now faces war

The Russian leader also agreed with Sergey Mironov, head of the "A Just Russia - For Truth" faction in the Duma, who said that "the birth rate is insufficient, because the matter concerns extinction"

MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed with the statement that a war has been declared on the "Russian world," echoing the remarks made by the leaders of the Duma factions at a State Council meeting at the Kremlin.

"Colleagues have spoken, asserting that a war has been declared on the 'Russian world,' and I agree — it is indeed so," Putin said in his closing remarks.

Putin also agreed with Sergey Mironov, head of the "A Just Russia - For Truth" faction in the Duma, who said that "the birth rate is insufficient, because the matter concerns extinction."

Mironov earlier drew attention to the fact that the birth rate of 1.6 children per family does not ensure the reproduction of the nation, as it should exceed two for this purpose. "In the Soviet Union, the required two children per family were largely achieved through the republics that are no longer part of Russia," Putin noted.
