MOSCOW, October 22. /TASS/. Israel demands that the United Nations thoroughly examine cargoes coming via the Rafah border crossing to prevent weapons smuggling, Israeli Ambassador to Russian Alexander Ben Zvi told TASS.
"Our only demand to the United Nations was that these cargoes be checked. So that this is not used to ship weapons. And so that these cargoes really be meant for civilians rather than any military and terrorist groups who would use them in their purposes," he said, commenting on the situation at the Rafah border crossing on the border between Egypt and the Gaza Strip.
According to the Israeli diplomat, the Israeli side doesn’t know whether the cargoes already let in complied with its requirements. However, in his words, "everything seems to be OK.".
