MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. A nine-year-old boy has rescued his two younger brothers and his sister from a burning house in Vyazma, Smolensk Region. The children’s mother has died, said the press service of the Smolensk Region Investigative Department of the Russian Investigative Committee.
According to the agency, the fire sparked at about 10:00 Moscow time on Thursday. "A nine-year-old boy carried his two younger brothers and his sister during a fire in the town of Vyazma. The rescued children’s mother, born in 1987, was in the house when the fire broke out; she died," the agency specified.
The press service added that a senior investigator of the Russian Investigative Committee local branch was passing along the house at the time. He saw unclothed children, approached the fire site and put them in the car. The investigator and the locals tried to enter the burning house to save the children’s mother, but had to retreat because of the heavy smoke. The investigator gave the children to the emergency doctors that arrived on the scene. There is no threat to their lives.
Investigators are working on the scene, and a check is being carried out over the conflagration and the woman’s death.
