Putin notes specific nature of challenges facing African regions

Many regional threats are often universal in nature and require collective solutions, the Russian leader said

MOSCOW, October 29. /TASS/. The challenges facing various regions of Africa are unique and specific, yet many of these threats require collective solutions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said following the Russia-Africa summit.

"The challenges encountered by these regions and subregions are unique and specific; however, many regional threats are often universal in nature and require collective solutions," he said.

Putin noted that the summit provided a valuable opportunity for all participants to hear African leaders discuss the pressing issues facing their respective regions - specifically the Sahara, the Sahel, and Northern, Central, and Southern Africa.
