MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. The masterminds who orchestrated the March 22 terrorist attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue in suburban Moscow were seeking above all to damage the national unity of the Russian people, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the 12th Congress of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia.
"Judging from the reports by investigators, we have every grounds to think that the main goal of the masterminds behind this horrible, murderous act of terrorism in Moscow was precisely to cause damage to our unity. No other goals are even discernible. There are none!" the Russian head of state said. "But, the goal of undermining the unity of Russian society, moreover under contemporary conditions, is undeniably clear for all to see," he asserted.
Putin emphasized in particular that the most important condition of Russia’s overall success is the unity of the country’s multiethnic society. "This is the main, fundamental condition for our success," the president stressed.
