NEW DELHI, November 3. /TASS/. The mutual tourist flow between Russia and India increased by 8% in the first half of 2026, said Alexander Sitnikov, the representative of the Russian Ministry of Economic Development in India.
"In recent years, we have managed to significantly increase the demand for mutual travel. The tourist flow is demonstrating steady growth: in 2025, it reached 143,100 trips, which is 16% more compared to 2024. This positive dynamic continues in the current year as well. Over the first six months of 2026, the total volume of mutual tourist trips amounted to 75,300, which exceeds the figure for the same period of 2025 by 8%," he said.
The ministry sees "growing interest among Indian nationals not only in traditional cultural centers like Moscow and St. Petersburg, but also in new destinations: Siberia, the Far East region, Murmansk, and Arkhangelsk, which attract tourists with the Northern Lights, Kazan, the historical cities of the Golden Ring, and Karelia," Sitnikov noted.
"In turn, Russian travelers are also discovering India with great pleasure. In addition to the invariably popular beaches of Goa, there is a growing demand for tours along the famous 'Golden Triangle' route (Delhi - Agra - Jaipur), and wellness trips to Kerala to experience Ayurveda," the representative added.
