NEW YORK, March 19. /TASS/. The United States is interested in extensive bilateral trade with Russia, including in rare earth minerals, US President Donald Trump told Fox News in an interview.
"We don't have that much trade, and they'd like to, and we'd like to also. They have some very valuable things for us, including very big forms of rare earth," the US leader said.
Speaking about Russia’s deposits of rare earth minerals, Trump said: "They have a big chunk of real estate, actually the biggest in the world for a country, by far."
"And on that they have things that we could use, frankly, and they that other people could use," the US leader added.
In late February, President Putin stated that Russia was open to exploring major economic projects with the United States, including within the context of resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
Among the potential projects, the Russian leader mentioned the extraction of rare earth elements and aluminum production. According to President Putin, these are capital-intensive ventures requiring significant investments.
