UEFA allows Champions League games to go ahead after terror threats

"All matches are planned to go ahead as scheduled with appropriate security arrangements in place," the governing body of European football said in a statement

MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. The Union of European Football Associations said it is aware of the threat of terrorist acts at the Champions League quarter-finals, but is not planning to cancel the games.

The Spanish newspaper Marca reported earlier that the terrorist group Islamic State (banned in Russia) is planning attacks at all stadiums that will host the first quarter-final matches the Champions League.

"UEFA is aware of alleged terrorist threats made towards this week's UEFA Champions League matches and is closely liaising with the authorities at the respective venues," the governing body of European football said in a statement. "All matches are planned to go ahead as scheduled with appropriate security arrangements in place."

On April 9, Real Madrid is playing against Manchester City in the Spanish capital, while Arsenal is taking on Bayern Munchen in London. On April 10, Atletico de Madrid will face off against Borussia Dortmund in Madrid, while Paris Saint-Germain will play against Barcelona in the French capital.
