Russian Olympic Committee won’t fund athletes competing in neutral status

The IOC said on December 14 that six Russians and five Belarusians were granted licenses to participate in the Games

MOSCOW, December 15. /TASS/. The Russian Olympic Committee will not provide financial support to athletes who agree to compete in neutral status, Russian Olympic Committee President Stanislav Pozdnyakov told reporters.

"Athletes that will receive payments won’t include athletes who have accepted neutralization. The ROC will not support athletes with neutral status," Pozdnyakov said.

The International Olympic Committee on December 8 allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Olympics in a neutral status. The IOC said on December 14 that six Russians and five Belarusians were granted licenses to participate in the Games.

The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
