SIMFEROPOL, October 29. /TASS/. There was a constant buzz of drones over the town of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region in the summertime, local resident Alexander Zakharov told TASS.
"Five minutes pass, and another one is flying. That constant buzzing - I now feel an automatic urge to hide when I hear a buzzing sound," he said, when asked about drone activity during the summer.
The Russian Armed Forces introduced a ceasefire in the Kherson direction at 4:00 a.m. Moscow time (1:00 a.m. GMT) on October 27 to prepare for a humanitarian operation in the town of Alyoshki. Earlier, Russia and Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire in Alyoshki, brokered by US First Lady Melania Trump, to facilitate humanitarian aid deliveries and the evacuation of civilians via a special safe corridor. On September 21, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the situation in Alyoshki as critical, saying that food and medicine could not be delivered there amid ongoing Ukrainian shelling and drone attacks. Slightly over 1,000 residents currently remain in Alyoshki, down from a population of 20,000.
