Alyoshki residents did not want to leave for Ukraine, local resident says

Svetlana said that the Ukrainian authorities can say "whatever they want"

SIMFEROPOL, October 29. /TASS/. None of the residents of the town of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region wanted to leave for Ukraine, local resident Svetlana told reporters in response to a question from TASS.

"No, none of the people I know wanted to leave for Ukraine. As for what the Ukrainian authorities are saying about this, they can say whatever they want," she said.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that, as of 4:00 a.m. Moscow time (1:00 a.m. GMT) on October 27, the Russian Armed Forces had ceased fire on the Kherson front and established a "regime of silence" in preparation for a humanitarian operation near Alyoshki.

Earlier, Russia and Ukraine, with the assistance of US First Lady Melania Trump, agreed to a ceasefire in Alyoshki to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid and prepare for the evacuation of civilians through a designated safe corridor.

Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the humanitarian situation in Alyoshki critical on September 21. Shelling and drone attacks by Kiev have rendered the delivery of food and medicine to the town impossible. Just over 1,000 of Alyoshki’s former 20,000 residents remain in the town.
