GENEVA, September 18. /TASS/. The International Atomic Energy Agency General Conference failed to agree on any new main resolution this year, the Russian mission to international organizations in Vienna said.
"None of the five traditional General Conference resolutions were agreed upon. These resolutions define specific areas and priorities of the International Atomic Energy Agency Secretariat’s activities, including the development of peaceful nuclear energy, the safeguards system, nuclear and physical nuclear security, technical cooperation, as well as the implementation of necessary programs and initiatives. In the past, their adoption allowed member states to establish common approaches and set the necessary areas for the Secretariat’s subsequent work," the diplomats stated.
