Russian authorities daily step up country’s positions in spite of West’s pressure — Lavrov

According to Russian Foreign Minister, "all the countries that experience the negative effect of the selfish policy carried out by the United States and its satellites have an objective need to reconfigure their economic relations"

TEHRAN, June 22. /TASS/. The Russian leadership daily works on adapting a wide range of national areas in order to ensure the resilience of the state in the face of the West’s pressure, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday.

Lavrov pointed out that Russia was currently pursuing proactive domestic and international policies and consolidating its positions, regardless of the pressure from Western countries.

"The president holds several meetings every day, which are, first and foremost, focused on the adaptation of the economic and social fields, as well as the banking and financial sectors, to the realities emerging in the wake of the West’s selfish and aggressive policies," Lavrov explained.

"All the countries that experience the negative effect of the selfish policy carried out by the United States and its satellites have an objective need to reconfigure their economic relations so that they will not depend on our Western partners’ whims and caprices," he said.

Lavrov said that those issues "are making up President Putin’s daily agenda," and the 25th edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which ended last week, was devoted to the same theme.
