MOSCOW, May 6. /TASS/. Ukraine won’t gain anything but will see the ultimate loss of its sovereignty from the bogus brotherhood with Poland, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev cautioned, when taking to his Telegram channel Friday.
He pointed to Polish President Andrzej Duda’s statement that there would be no more borders between Poland and Ukraine for decades or even centuries.
"O, sancta simplicitas! [Oh, the holy innocence - TASS]," Medvedev noted.
"It is clear that this feigned brotherhood won’t bring anything to the Ukrainians themselves except the ultimate loss of their statehood," he said. "But maybe, this is exactly what they want?"
The high-ranking official explained that the masks are off now. Duda has officially recognized the territorial claims to Ukraine. And, as Medvedev pointed out, the Polish president had chosen "a more than fitting" occasion for this statement: Poland’s Constitution Day.
"The national self-awareness of the Poles has been clearly bolstered given the epochal crisis in the neighboring state, worn down by the bastardized rule of the Kiev regime. And the territorial appetites keep growing along with it," Medvedev said.
According to Russia's ex-president, Western Ukraine will be a welcome acquisition for Poland since it "craves territorial restitution, carried out "under the guise of eloquent words about eternal fraternity."
"But the meek Ukrainian neighbor will fall for anything for the sake of its illusive dream of a happy life under the EU’s umbrella," Medvedev stressed.
Vain dreams
However, he believes that "no one should get too excited, nor should anyone indulge in vain dreams." Whatever magic spell Duda may create, the issue is a "de-facto annexation of Western Ukraine by Poland," he underscored.
"The waters are being tested slowly, but steadily. The phantom pains of former glory that have been tormenting the Poles for several centuries, have not gone away. The task is simple: to return the coveted historic lands, while hiding behind aggressive anti-Russian rhetoric and deceitful mantras about the shared happiness with a ‘borderless’ Ukraine. To avenge the numerous partitions of Poland," Medvedev explained.

On April 28, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin announced that, according to the available intelligence, Washington and Warsaw are hammering out plans to impose Polish military-political control over "its historic possessions" in Ukraine.
The first stage of this "reunification" anticipates Polish troops entering western Ukrainian regions under the pretext of "protection against Russian aggression." The so-called ‘peacekeeping contingent’ is intended to be deployed in those parts of Ukraine where there are practically no chances of clashes with Russian troops.
