TUNIS, December 3. /TASS/. Kurdish units of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and US troops deployed to Syria are shelling territories on the Euphrates' eastern bank, the Sham FM radio station said.

"American occupation forces and the SDF units opened fire from heavy artillery systems at the villages of Hasham and al-Tabia east of the Euphrates," it reported.

According to the radio station, no information about casualties has been made available as of yet.

The SANA news agency reported earlier that Syrian government forces, alongside militias from local Arab tribes, had repelled an SDF attack in the Deir ez-Zor governorate, where Kurdish units attacked several settlements in the northern part of the governorate.

Units of the Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group (outlawed in Russia) staged a large-scale attack on Syria’s northern governorates in the early hours on November 27. According to the Syrian government army command, the terrorists attempted to seize a number of neighborhoods and military facilities and attacked positions of government forces. The Syrian army launched an operation to repel the attack.

On November 30, the Syrian army command said that government forces were delivering strikes on terrorists’ positions in Aleppo. According to the Syrian defense ministry, the army had to regroup to save the lives of civilians and its troops and prepare for a counterattack.
